Homemade Toothpaste Trials

By far the most amazing clean feeling. Wow. The kids are not loving it, but tell me what kid enjoys brushing their teeth? So far the flavour ain't great, but I am getting used to it, and for me, my teeth and gums feel amazing. So smooth, and whitens better than any toothpaste I have ever tried. I cannot describe the feeling, lets just say I look like a mental person because I am constantly licking my teeth after brushing! Bahaha! For me, the unpleasant taste (which I will work on) and the fact that it is another product and its packaging i have removed from our home, it doesn't make me feel sick like 'normal' toothpaste, its easy and cheap to make, my teeth look and feel better, my toddlers don't like to eat it like commercial paste, and one less reason to need a supermarket ....... plenty enough reasons to keep going!

I'm not really one for measurements but for the clean you will need about one part coconut oil to three parts bicarb soda. For flavour I am using peppermint oil and stevia. I like to add a mineral salt to mine also (I had Himalayan salt- so I used that).

I have a small jar for mine. The kids have little lip balm pots (so we don't have to share). I think i will get a squeezy bottle and make the mixture a little more runny so the kids can all share and I will stick to my little pot. I prefer it thick like commercial paste. I will experiment further and update this post as necessary.
